Did you know that Florida Maine Coons offer a written 5 Year Health Guarantee?
Ultimately the price is determined by a cat’s pedigree but more importantly by the bloodline behind the Maine Coon Kitten for Sale. At Florida Maine Coons we are one of the very few breeders in the world that offer a 5 Year Written Health guarantee.
We conduct comprehensive PCR testing on every single cat that enters our home where they are isolated for a short time so we know there is no chance of any Cross Contamination. PCR, or polymerase chain reaction, is a technique used to amplify and analyze genetic material, which can be either DNA or RNA in sequence. This genetic material is present in every parasite, bacterium, or virus.
PCR testing can be performed using samples such as stool, skin scraping, cheek swabs, or throat swabs. This testing provides valuable information about the true health of your cat by detecting the presence of various pathogens. We are proud to report that all of our breeding cats have tested negative for a wide range of pathogens, including Bordetella, E. Coli, Calicivirus, and many others.
PCR tests are highly sensitive and can differentiate between pathogenic strains that may appear similar. We also conduct random PCR tests throughout the year to ensure the ongoing health of our cats.
In addition to PCR testing, we also perform DNA analysis on all of our cats using Optimal Selection by Wisdom Panel. This analysis helps us monitor for genetic health issues that Maine Coon cats are prone to. We exclusively work with cats that are fully DNA-clear for known Maine Coon Kitten traits.
Furthermore, we conduct yearly ultrasounds and echocardiograms as needed on all of our cats to monitor their heart health. This is especially important for Maine Coon cats, as they are known to be susceptible to heart conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). In addition to heart health, we also have kidney scans done to check for polycystic kidney disease (PKD). In the nearly 45 year history of the MajestCoon Bloodline, we know of no cases of HCM, FIP, Hips, or KIdney Issues
Lastly, we have our cats’ hips graded by our Veterinarian for hip dysplasia, as Maine Coon cats are known for their extra large size. This grading helps us ensure the overall health and well-being of our cats and kittens Our commitment to thorough testing and monitoring reflects our dedication to providing the best care for our feline companions.
We conduct thorough testing and have a deep understanding of our breeding lines’ testing history. Currently, we are proud to offer a 5-year guarantee and hopefully extend it to 10 years in the future. Our commitment to never taking shortcuts provides you with peace of mind, knowing that your Maine Coon is free from genetic issues and components that are common in the breed. Additionally, we provide lifelong support for your kitten, ensuring that any questions or concerns you may have are addressed promptly, just contact us.
We take a hands-off approach with our kittens, allowing our veterinarians to handle all aspects of their care except for deworming. Upon receiving your kitten, it is important to schedule a vet check as outlined in the contract and ensure that a rabies vaccine is administered. Please note that we do not administer rabies vaccines, as they must be done in your name along with the microchip information.
Every kitten that leaves our cattery holds a special place in our hearts and souls, as they are our everything until they find their forever homes. We feel incredibly fortunate to share the love and dedication we put into each of our kittens with other Maine Coon lovers across the world. Learn how to reserve a kitten here.
Why do most Breeders only offer a 1 Year Health guarantee?
Pretty simple, lack of confidence in their breeding cats, with minimal or no history of their line makes adopting from a Breeder that only offers a 1 year guarantee is risky since most major issues only show after the first year of life. You get what you pay for.
